Chrissy DeBono is in her 12th year of teaching and is currently an advanced math teacher at Cottonwood Elementary School in the Vail Unified School District in Vail. Chrissy earned a bachelor’s in Elementary Education, her first master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction, and is currently working towards her second master’s degree in Educational Leadership. Mrs. DeBono has received the Tucson Values Teachers “Teacher Excellence Award” in 2016, as well as the Vail Pride Day Teacher of the Year in 2013. Along with finding innovative new ways to challenge her advanced math students, Chrissy serves as an advocate for teachers working to find exciting new ways to recruit and retain high quality teachers.
